Candicci’s has been serving Italian cuisine for over 40 years. After closing its restaurant in June 2024, it wanted to focus on catering, carryout, and delivery. The closure was due to the same old story plaguing the restaurant industry today: staff shortages, increased triple net lease on property, rising food costs, etc.
For more than 40 years, Candicci’s has been a cornerstone of the St. Louis Italian dining scene. Founded on principles of quality, tradition, and warm hospitality, the original full-service restaurant, long a fixture in Ballwin under the stewardship of owner Bob Candice, cultivated a dedicated following. However, Candicci’s embraced a strategic evolution by adapting to the evolving restaurant landscape, including pandemic-related impacts, staffing considerations, and rising operational costs.
This led to the establishment of Candicci’s Catering & Express in Chesterfield. This new venture, located in the former Chirco’s Pizza space, ingeniously preserves the cherished culinary heritage while focusing on the high-demand areas of catering, convenient pickup, and efficient delivery. This shift ensures that the classic Candicci’s flavors remain accessible to long-time fans and new customers throughout Chesterfield and the wider St. Louis metropolitan area.
