Dog Day Friday Reset & Oktoberfest Kicks Off @ Urban Chestnut

ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) – Urban Chestnut: Long known for their dedication to sustainability and community, the Urban Chestnut Brewing Company is on a mission to give back.  Their last Dog Day Friday event to raise funds for Stray Rescue St. Louis was rained out, so they’re planning another one.  The microbrewery is inviting dog lovers and dog owners to bring their furry friends to a family-friendly Dog Day Friday at the Grove Brewery & Bierhall, 4465 Manchester Avenue, St. Louis.

They’ll be grilling hot-dogs and brats, and chilling on the east lawn on Friday, September 30, from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.  There will be live music and plenty of cold UCBC cans! If it rains again, they’ll just move under the terrace next to the Bierhall!  Twenty-percent of all sales will benefit Stray Rescue St. Louis.

Of course, at the Midtown Brewery & Biergarten, 3229 Washington Avenue, Oktoberfest has already begun and runs through Sunday.

  • Friday 9/23: 12 pm – 11 pm
  • Saturday 9/24: 11 am –  11 pm
  • Sunday 9/25: 12 pm – 7 pm

This year’s party is filling two city blocks with German food, music, and beer or bier, if you prefer.  Also joining the party are Perennial Artisan Ales, Civil Life Brewing Company, 2nd Shift Brewing, and Schlafly Beer.

There’s no admission fee for Oktoberfest St. Louis, but new in 2016, this is CASH ONLY event, in an effort to shorten the lines.  And on Sunday (family day) they’ll have a kids tent with activities hosted by Catherine Cares, including Lebkuchen (cookie) decorating, crafts, music, and games.
