Minnesota Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of General Colin Powell

ST. PAUL, MN (STL.News)  In accordance with a proclamation issued by President Joe Biden, Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota effective immediately until sunset on Friday, October 22, 2021, to remember, mourn, and honor the life of General Colin Powell.

“General Powell embodied the highest ideals of both a warrior and a diplomat and led with his personal commitment to the democratic values that make our country strong,” reads the proclamation issued by Governor Walz.  “The President of the United States of America has asked all to remember and celebrate the life of General Colin Powell and honor his legacy.”

Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.
