Grand Opening Celebration at thirteen fifty-six Public House
Ballwin, MO (STL.News) Now that all the new changes are in place, “thirteenfifty-six Public House” is ready to officially launch with a Grand Opening celebration this Saturday, March 31, from 11 am to 1pm. After months of interior and exterior renovations, it’s the perfect time to unveil the popular neighborhood sports bar’s transformation. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the first rate food and friendly service!
The transformation is part of a $53 million mixed-use project to what was formerly known as Big Bend Square at Big Bend Blvd and Highway 141. When the entire project is finished , now called the Villages, it will include 219 “high-end” apartments and incorporate about 45,000 square feet (17,000 square feet of new shops, 25,000 square feet of existing refurbished retail) and a 3,000-square foot single-use building being constructed along Big Bend Road.
The architectural makeover for “thirteenfifty-six Public House” included a new facade and an eye-catching front of glass windows opening up onto an impressive patio. The interior redesign includes a trendy new concrete bar and several other customer-focused changes. It all makes for an exciting new roll-out of an already popular hang-out.
“thirteenfifty-six Public House” owner, David McDonald, is excited about all that’s been done to the area. “The new development is a big asset to the community and is sure to bring a lot more money to Twin Oaks,” said McDonald. “When the apartments are complete, we’ll offer delivery service to ever residence.”
When McDonald took over immediately he added 44 flat-screen TV’s and improved the bar program, offering a hefty 33 craft beers on draft with local labels.
One of the most exciting changes to come to “thirteenfifty-six Public House” is that it will soon become a Microbrewery producing its own local label beer!
“My plan has always been that down the road I’d have my own label,” said McDonald. “This way I can give my customers fresh in house brewed beer.”
The transformed brewpub will also be serving the latest new national craze, Nitro Cold Brew. The once relatively unknown item, mostly popular with coffee nerds, is now becoming mainstream in the world of Java.
There’s no doubt that the restaurant’s sports-minded concept and family-friendly atmosphere has earned it a spot as a neighborhood staple, but the exceptional food has made it a real dining destination. When McDonald took over he nixed the frozen and packaged “Instafood” used by many bars in favor of fresh, house-made fare worthy of his customer’s attention.
Everything from the homemade fried mushrooms and the house-made spinach and artichoke dip to the fresh pizza, gourmet burgers, and hand breaded chicken tenders is made from scratch daily. The handmade toasted ravioli, hand breaded with Dave’s own special recipe are some of the best in St. Louis. And for the Grand Opening, there’ll be several new tasty menu items
McDonald’s main goal has always been customer satisfaction and he’s done a great job of always keeping his customers best interests at heart. You can dine in or order online for carry out and using their mobile app makes ordering even more convenient.
Besides the expanded Happy Hours, fun game night specials, and other entertaining events, like Trivia Night, the Ballwin location is just a great place to bring the entire family. The atmosphere is casual and fun, and on Tuesday’s, kids get to eat for free. So, stop in for a new “thirteenfifty-six Public House” experience.
