Banc of California has declared quarterly dividends for both its common and preferred stock, continuing its commitment to returning capital to shareholders following strong second-quarter financial results. The announcement comes as the regional bank continues integrating its PacWest acquisition while improving profitability and expanding its balance sheet.

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 7, 2026 (STL.News) – Banc of California Inc. (NYSE: BANC) announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.12 per share on its outstanding common stock, continuing the higher dividend established earlier this year. The company also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.484375 per depositary share on its 7.75% Fixed Rate Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series F.

The common stock dividend will be paid on October 1, 2026, to shareholders of record as of September 15, 2026, while the preferred stock dividend will be paid on the same date to holders of record on the same date. The declaration extends Banc of California’s commitment to returning capital to shareholders while maintaining investments in growth and balance sheet optimization.

Dividend Follows Strong Financial Performance

The dividend announcement comes shortly after Banc of California reported solid second-quarter 2026 financial results, reflecting continued progress in integrating its acquisition of PacWest Bancorp and executing strategic initiatives aimed at improving long-term earnings.

For the second quarter, the bank reported diluted earnings per share of $0.44, while net interest margin continued to improve as management repositioned portions of the balance sheet to enhance profitability. Loan growth remained positive, deposits were stable, and credit quality continued to perform within expectations despite a higher interest rate environment.

Earlier this year, the board approved a 20% increase in the quarterly common dividend from $0.10 to $0.12 per share, reflecting management’s confidence in the company’s earnings outlook and capital position. The latest declaration maintains that increased payout.

A Regional Bank Transformed by Acquisition

Banc of California has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past several years.

Founded in 1941, the Los Angeles-based bank historically focused on serving small and middle-market businesses throughout California. However, its profile changed significantly following the acquisition of PacWest Bancorp in late 2023, a transaction that created one of the largest regional banking franchises headquartered on the West Coast.

Today, the company manages more than $38 billion in assets and operates approximately 80 banking offices throughout California, while also maintaining specialized banking operations in Colorado, North Carolina, New York, and Illinois. The bank provides commercial lending, treasury management, commercial real estate financing, venture banking, private banking, and wealth management services to businesses and consumers.

Why Dividends Matter to Investors

Dividend announcements often provide important insight into management’s confidence in future earnings.

Banks must carefully balance capital distributions with regulatory capital requirements, loan growth, and economic uncertainty. Boards typically increase or maintain dividends only when they believe earnings and capital levels can comfortably support ongoing shareholder payments.

By maintaining its higher quarterly dividend, Banc of California is signaling continued confidence in its financial strength and long-term earnings potential.

At the current quarterly rate, the common dividend equates to an annualized payout of $0.48 per share, providing investors with a competitive dividend yield relative to many regional banking peers.

The preferred dividend remains unchanged, reflecting the contractual payment obligations associated with the Series F preferred shares.

Stock Performance Over the Past Year

Banc of California shares have staged a strong recovery over the past 12 months as investors regained confidence in the regional banking sector.

Following volatility that affected many regional banks after the banking crisis several years ago, improving credit conditions, stabilizing deposits, and higher net interest income have helped lift sentiment across the industry.

BANC shares have generally traded within a 52-week range of approximately $13 to $20, reaching multi-year highs following stronger earnings and continued progress integrating PacWest. Investors have responded favorably to the bank’s improving profitability, expense reductions, and expanding tangible book value.

The stock has also benefited from expectations that lower interest rates over time could stimulate commercial lending activity while supporting economic growth in many of the bank’s core California markets.

Technical Analysis Remains Constructive

From a technical perspective, Banc of California continues to exhibit a positive long-term trend.

The stock remains above its key 50-day and 200-day moving averages, a pattern many technical analysts view as supportive of continued institutional buying interest. Trading volume has remained relatively healthy, and momentum indicators suggest buyers continue to accumulate shares during periods of market weakness.

Key technical support is developing near previous breakout levels established after the company’s second-quarter earnings report, while resistance remains near recent 52-week highs.

Although regional bank stocks remain sensitive to interest-rate expectations and economic data, the overall technical picture for BANC remains favorable as long as shares hold above longer-term support levels.

Regional Banking Outlook

The outlook for regional banks has improved considerably compared with the uncertainty experienced during 2023.

Higher capital levels, stronger liquidity, moderating deposit competition, and improved credit performance have helped stabilize many institutions. At the same time, banks continue facing challenges from commercial real estate exposure, regulatory oversight, and evolving interest-rate conditions.

For Banc of California, successfully integrating PacWest remains one of the most important long-term growth drivers. Management continues pursuing cost savings, balance sheet optimization, and expanded commercial banking relationships across its larger footprint.

Analysts generally believe the combined franchise has meaningful opportunities to improve efficiency while generating stronger returns on equity over the next several years.

Outlook

Banc of California’s latest dividend declaration reinforces management’s confidence in the bank’s financial position and ongoing transformation.

With improving earnings, a stronger balance sheet, successful integration of its largest acquisition, and a growing commercial banking franchise, the company appears well positioned to continue returning capital to shareholders while investing in future growth.

For income-focused investors, the continuation of the $0.12 quarterly dividend—following the 20% increase announced earlier this year—demonstrates the bank’s commitment to balancing shareholder returns with prudent capital management. As the regional banking sector continues to stabilize, Banc of California remains one of the institutions investors will watch closely for continued earnings growth and dividend sustainability.
