WASHINGTON, June 15 (STL.News) – President Donald Trump announced on Monday that numerous ships loaded with oil are departing the Strait of Hormuz. The vessels are now traveling along the Southern Highway, a route the president described as safe, secure, and pristine.

The movement of commercial maritime traffic follows a peace agreement mediated by Pakistan. This deal ended military operations between the two nations, effectively halting 100 days of conflict. According to the announcement, the agreement includes a 60-day window for further nuclear negotiations and the lifting of the United States blockade.

“Ships are starting to move, many loaded up with Oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The resumption of activity through this critical energy chokepoint has already impacted international markets. The passage, which typically manages 20 percent of global petroleum flow, experienced significant tension when prices previously surged past 100 dollars per barrel. With the waterway opening, markets are beginning to stabilize. Officials noted that the route is expected to remain permanently toll-free. Prior to this diplomatic breakthrough, the United States had utilized military directives to guide over 200 commercial ships and 100 million barrels of oil through the region during the height of the hostilities.
