Shareholder Alert for Investment Losses in Chipotle Mexican Grill
We told you about an announcement by the Pomerantz Law Firm (Pomerantz LLP) regarding a class action lawsuit filed against Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) and certain of its officers. The class action, filed in United States District Court, District of Colorado, and docketed under 17-cv-01760, is on behalf of a class consisting of investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Chipotle securities, seeking to recover compensable damages caused by defendants’ violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. According to the announcement, shareholders who purchased Chipotle securities from February 5, 2016 through July 19, 2017 have until September 18, 2017 to ask the court to appoint them as lead plaintiff for the class. The suit alleges that during that time period the defendants made materially false and misleading statements regarding the company’s business, operational and compliance policies. The lawsuit was filed after Chipotle’s stock values fell sharply following several media reports of systemic issues surrounding health and safety practices that were linked to a series of foodborne illness and norovirus events.
Vicia Named One of the Best New Restaurants in America
There’s always something a little heartwarming about hearing that a local resident is winning national accolades. That’s true in the case of recent attention showered on Chef Michael Gallena and his wife, Tara Gallena. Their restaurant, Vicia in the Cortex Innovation Community at 4260 Forest Park Ave. is garnering more national praise. The restaurant’s seasonally driven, vegetable forward menu has been well received by diners and food critics near and far. Vicia has just been named one of the 12 best new restaurants in America by the national food and restaurant publication Eater. The St. Louis restaurant was included in a “best of” list that hopscotched coast to coast and included some of the best food cities in the United States—New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, and New Orleans among them. Vicia was one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year, and so far, it has not disappointed.

On Monday, August 21, 2017 parts of Missouri and Illinois will experience a total eclipse of the sun. Those in a 70-mile band running from northwestern Missouri to southern Illinois will see the full effect of the moon moving between the earth and the sun. Day will literally turn to night for as long as a minute or two. That area of totality includes a portion of the St. Louis area, and some of our favorite destinations nearby. Where will you be at the moment of totality? One of Missouri’s favorite wineries, Noboleis Vineyard and Winery is hosting a Total Eclipse event at their 74-acre vineyard in Augusta, Missouri. Noboleis is in the perfect position for spectacular viewing. The Great American Eclipse will pass through Augusta around 1:15 p.m., bringing totality for about 2 minutes 19 seconds.
