EDINBURG, TX (STL.News) McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents arrested a previously convicted child sex offender and a Salvadoran national convicted of homicide.
On February 1, MCS agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested three migrants after they entered the United States illegally. Record checks on a Salvadoran national revealed he was arrested in Maryland in 2018 on five charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor. He was convicted and sentenced to 10 years’ incarceration. He was subsequently removed from the United States.
On February 2, MCS agents apprehended a group of 15 migrants from Central America and Mexico near Hidalgo. At the station, record checks revealed a Salvadoran national was convicted of homicide in his home country. The subject does not have any criminal or immigration history in the U.S.
Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
