Augusta, MO/November 27, 2017 (STL.News) – The holidays are such an enchanting time, and Noboleis Vineyards is excited to share the magic of the season with you and your family. They will be at Oaks Crossing at 5520 Locust Street, for one of Augusta’s most memorable holiday events, the 35th Annual Candlelight Christmas Walk.
Noboleis will be serving a variety of their amazing wines, along with food from Kate’s Coffee at this once a year event that transforms the entire town of Augusta into a fantasy that could so perfectly be portrayed in a Norman Rockwell Christmas painting! Rockwell is known for painting Christmas scenes that are deeply entrenched in our collective subconscious.
Whether it’s a rosy-cheeked Santa in his sleigh, colorful stockings hung by the fireplace or a charming elderly couple lavishing Christmas presents on their loving grandchildren, it’s the experience of that old-fashioned holiday celebration that we cherish most.
The historic town of Augusta spares no expense to ensure visitors experience the serene nostalgia and small town charm to start their holiday season off right. As you walk down a corridor with over 1000 glowing luminaries welcoming you to the all the sights, sounds and smells of ‘Christmas yesteryear,’ visitors of all ages from near and far will be able to create their very own holiday memories.
Besides visiting with Santa Claus in the Olde Wine Hall surrounded by twinkling Christmas lights and an antique sleigh, guests can stroll through the town visiting unique boutique shops and galleries showcasing rare and distinctive gift ideas made by local artisans and crafters, such as hand-blown glass, beautiful paintings and one of a kind jewelry.
There will also be restaurants, churches, food vendors, wineries & breweries pulling out all the stops with delectable traditional holiday fare. Enjoy a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride in the brisk winter air, and then warm up at the old town square around a toasty bonfire while relishing in freshly-roasted chestnuts. Then, enjoy traditional Christmas caroling in the historic Ebenezer church or listen and admire roving carolers.
Visitors can also take the free antique trolley to get around town or can use it to join-in the fun scavenger hunt featuring all kinds of fabulous prizes. They can also step back in time by visiting a “German Immigrant Home at Christmas” at the Augusta History Museum. The 1856 house highlights a traditional cedar Christmas tree, an historic Creche and German Christmas Cards.
