ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) – Scoot over restaurants one and two, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, a Wichita, Kansas-based fast-casual chain, has just opened their third area location in Shiloh, Illinois.  This however, will be the first corporately owned Freddy’s.  Eric Cole and Steve Nordstrom, of M&M Custard LLC, own and operate the Freddy’s in St. Peters at 1365 Jungermann Road, and in Cottleville, at 6031 Mid Rivers Mall Drive.

Located at 3320 Green Mount Crossing Drive, the 3,170-square-foot restaurant seats 100 and has a patio space and a much appreciated drive-thru.  Besides the tasty frozen treats, the chain serves thinly pressed steak burgers, hot dogs and crispy shoestring fries, and several other items.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steak Burgers, was founded in 2002, and currently has 191 locations across 29 states.  Both St Charles locations employ around 50 workers, and the Shiloh restaurant will staff about 85 people.  The company’s plan is to open 50 new restaurants this year.

No sales figures or estimated revenue were disclosed, but the initial franchise fee for a Freddy’s Frozen Custard restaurant is $25,000, with ongoing royalties of 4.5 percent of gross sales, and up to 3.5 percent as a contribution to marketing and advertising.  The startup costs for franchise locations run between $596,205 and $1.14 million.  Remember, all custards are not created equal, so simply stop by for a bite and I think you’ll agree that Freddy’s creamy frozen custard is a hard one to beat.
