Still Showcasing Local Food And Drink – BREW IN THE LOU
ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.news) – The 4th annual Brew in the Lou is moving to south St. Louis this year. The annual fundraiser for St. Louis’ Lutheran Elementary School Association had been held on the grounds of Concordia Seminary in the DeMun Neighborhood. This year, it will be at the Lily Pond at Francis Park, 5399 Donovan Street in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood.
Just as in years past, the 2016 Brew in the Lou will showcase locally produced beer, wine spirits, coffee and food. It will be Saturday, October 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. As in other years, there will be live entertainment, including the Deutschmeister German Brass Band, and Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison and the Bluegrass Band. Arts and craft vendors will sell their wares. Two crowd favorites, the bratwurst competition and the chili cook-off will be back this year too, as will the People’s Choice Home Brew Contest. Once again, KTVI/KPLR TV’s Jeff Bernthal will serve as emcee.
Admission is all inclusive, allowing festival-goers to sample the beer, home brew, wine, spirits, coffee and food from the many participating restaurants. It also includes a commemorative glass. More than 40 vendors are participating this year. Familiar brands like New Belgium Brewing, Swiss Meats, Blue Moon, Ski Soda, Goshen Coffee, Tim Horton’s, Goose Island, Double G Ham, Prairie Farms, LeGrands Market, Gobble STOP Smokehouse, and Vernon’s BBQ & Catering are among those taking part.
Festival wristbands are $40 in advance and $50 on the day of the event. They can be purchased online through LESASTL.org and will be held at registration on the day of the event. Since this event benefits the 8500 students who attend LESA schools in St. Louis, there are no refunds. For more information, call (314) 200-0797
There are a couple of Brew in the Lou deals to be had. Groupon is offering discounted passes, and ride-sharing app UBER is offering $15 off new users’ first ride with promo code: BREWLOU.
