There is ‘nothing’ in the China security deal for Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands Foreign Relations Committee Chair Peter Kenilorea Jr says there is “nothing” for the island nation in the security deal signed with China.

“The agreement itself speaks of this interest … domestically to protect Chinese interests,” Mr. Kenilorea told Sky News host Chris Smith.

He also said the deal was a “very secret” one and was not known about until it came to light.

“So yes, it is secret, and that of itself is a big concern to many of us Solomon Islanders.”
