Columbia Police Seeking Information About Individual Reported Entering Homes Naked

COLUMBIA, MO (STL.News) – The Columbia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual who was found naked in the bedrooms of two residences in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 18.

The individual entered homes in the 5800 block of Canaveral Drive and the 5800 block of Neptune. In both incidents, the residents woke up and found the individual naked in their bedrooms. In one home he was located under the bed, and the other he was located on the floor. The individual left both homes immediately when he was confronted. He entered both homes through unlocked doors and additional information indicates the same individual attempted to enter other homes in the area. There was no evidence of forced entry in either incident and no reported property damage, missing items or injuries.

Interim Police Chief Geoff Jones held a press conference Sunday, May 19 to help spread the word to identify the individual and to encourage residents to lock their homes.

“We do not know the individual’s motive for being in the homes but we encourage anyone who recognizes him to call us,” Jones said. “We also want to remind residents to keep their homes locked.”

Anyone with additional information about this individual or these incidents is asked to please contact the Columbia Police Department at (573) 874-7652 or Crimestoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
