Way of Lights; Celebrating the Birth of Christ

Belleville, IL: (STLRestaurant.News) Don’t get discouraged that the weather is getting colder, because a long with fall and winter come all kind of fun holiday events.  One annual celebration that has captured the attention of visitors near and far is the Way of Lights in Belleville.  And that amazing display of millions of holiday lights is right around the corner.

Beginning November 18th through December 31, 2016, grab a to-go coffee or hot chocolate and head to The Lady of the Snows, located right off highway 15 east, for the Annual Way of Lights Christmas display.  You’ll be in the holiday spirit before you know it!  How could you not be when you’re driving through over a mile and a half f adorned with millions of breathtaking twinkling lights?  They also have a laser light show and petting zoo.

Since 1970, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have invited people from all around to make the Way of Lights a part of their family tradition.  This year they’ve added new events so there’s more to see than ever.  So, let your winter time get off to a sparkling start!

The Journey – Church Parking Lot (Free)
Join us for a LIVE Journey to Bethlehem.   Walk with Joseph, Mary and the animals through the Way of Lights to our life-size nativity scene.
Tuesday: 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday: 9:30 p.m.
Photo opportunities after journey at Grotto.

Story Time – Visitors Center (Free)
Kids of all ages are welcome to listen as stories of the first Christmas are read from our own Way of Lights Book, Best-Loved Christmas Stories.
Sunday’s only.  Every 1/2 hour starting at 5:15 p.m.
