Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák in Washington, D.C. Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Lajčák discussed ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation and to counter growing cyber threats. The Secretary thanked Slovakia for prioritizing NATO burden sharing and meeting the Wales commitments. They discussed the importance of promoting progress in the Western Balkans. The Secretary recalled his visit to Bratislava earlier this year, and expressed gratitude for the Foreign Minister’s leadership as Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
