JEFFERSON CITY, MO (STL.News) – Missouri Governor Mike Parson has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at all government buildings in St. Louis County for one full day on Friday, June 14 to honor Maryland Heights Fire Protection District Firefighter-Paramedic Christopher R. Moore.
On June 6, Firefighter-Paramedic Moore was on duty when he suffered a medical emergency. He died on June 8.
“From an early age, Chris Moore made the decision to devote his life to public service, first becoming a junior firefighter,” Governor Parson said. “He spent most of his life as a member of the fire service, selflessly risking his own safety to keep others safe, and won honors for valor and bravery during his career. He will be remembered for the legacy of service he leaves us.”
Moore, a 17-year veteran of the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District had earlier served as a member of the Eureka Fire Protection District and the Metro West Fire Protection District.
The flags will be held at half-staff on the day Moore is laid the rest.
