Miss Sheri’s Cafeteria

Keeping the nostalgia alive and bringing family values to the table every day – Miss Sheri’s Cafeteria

St. Louis, MO/December 11, 2016 (STLRestaurant.News) The only dining establishment of its kind left in the area, Miss Sheri’s Cafeteria is a St. Louis icon and offers that family friendly dining experience with an extraordinary selection of freshly made entrees, hot and cold sides, salads, breads and desserts.  I’m talking about those comfort foods made from scratch and traditional favorites that one couldn’t forget having at the dinner table as a child, or enjoying at family reunions and holiday gatherings… For those of us who fondly remember simpler times and long for such comfort foods, Miss Sheri’s is sort of like coming home.

Founded over 40 years ago Ron Amann, his mission was to bring homemade meals at affordable prices with everything to be made with simple fresh ingredients and to be baked in-house and cooked on-site.  Ever since their grand opening, The Amann family has worked together behind the scenes.  According to the Amann’s, “As the years passed, our recipes proved time and again that traditional family-style cooking is always worth the time it takes to start from scratch.”  Today that dedication and culinary work ethic continues at their two separate locations at Warson Woods on Manchester (now owned and operated by his son Jeff Amann) and at Southfield Center on Lindbergh (owned and operated by the Ron Amann).

Every morning before sunrise, Miss Sheri’s bakers start crafting fresh, homemade breads (White, Wheat, Rye, French, Dinner Roles and Corn Bread); Pies (Fruit Pies: Apple, Blackberry, Cherry, Mixed Fruit, Peach, Pineapple, Strawberry and various crumb versions) Cream Pies (Banana, Chocolate, Coconut, Custard, Lemon Meringue, Cheese, Pumpkin, Rhubarb and seasonal favorites) and Cakes (Boston Cream, Bread Pudding, Cheese Cake Plain & with Cherries, Carrot Cake, White, Chocolate, Coconut Cake and seasonal favorites).  If a dessert is what you’re bringing to your next gathering, Miss Sheri’s fresh whole pies and cakes are available for purchase with a 24-hour notice.  Tell your friends and family it was made from scratch and let them think you baked it… We won’t tell!

In addition to their many rotating desserts including many sugar free deserts, you’ll find a rotating selection of two daily freshly made soups including Bean, Beef Barley, Broccoli Cheddar, Chicken noodle and/or Chicken Rice.

Rotating Poultry selections include: Baked Chicken & Rice, Chicken & Dumplings, Chicken Ala King, Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken Divan, Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Leonardo, Chicken Potpie, Chicken Teriyaki & Fried Rice, Honey Dijon Chicken and Turkey & Dressing, and Fried Chicken every Wednesday;
Rotating Fish options include: Baked White Fish, Boneless Trout, Boston Scrod, Filet of Cod, Fried Shrimp, Jack Salmon, Salmon Patties and Tuna Casserole.  And while we’re on the subject of fish, Miss Sheri’s Boston Scrod (which is only served on Fridays at the Warson Woods location and occasionally at the South County Location) is absolutely superb and is an entree that is rarely found on restaurant menus in the bi-state area.  Their Boston Scrod is a white fish that is lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned, baked in olive oil and garnished with capers and olives and a scoop of Miss Sheri’s signature home made tarter sauce.

Meat Entrees (which always feature daily hand-carved meats) includes: Baked Ham, Baked Pork Chop, Ham & Beans, Chop Suey, Pork Chop & Dressing, Pork Cutlet, Pork Loin and Dressing, Roast Pork & Oven Browned Potato, and Stuffed Pork Tenderloinm, Baked Lasagna, Beef Noodle Casserole, Beef Stew, Beef Stroganoff & Noodles, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Cubed Steak, Liver and Onions, Meatloaf, Polish Sausage & Sauerkraut, Pot Roast & Potato Pancake, Hand-Carved Roast Beef, Salisbury Steak, Short Ribs & Oven Browned Potato, Sirloin Tips & Noodles, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Stuffed Green Pepper & Shells, Swiss Steak and Veal Parmesan.

They offer at least 9 vegetable sides daily.  In addition to their popular Creamed Spinach, their rotating hot sides include: Asparagus, Baked Potatoes, Broccoli and Cheese Brussel Sprouts, Butternut Squash, Carrots, Corn, Fried Vegetables (Cauliflower, Eggplant, Mushroom, Okra, Zucchini), Green Beans, Italian Zucchini, Lima Beans, Macaroni & Cheese, Potatoes (Au Gratin, Baked, Fried, Mashed, Scalloped), Eggplant, Steamed Vegetable Medley, Stewed Tomatoes, Sweet-n-Sour Beets, Sweet-n-Sour Red Cabbage and Sweet potatoes.
