Michigan Lottery – Wayne County Man Wins $1 Million

Michigan (STL.News) Confusion led to elation for a Wayne County man who won $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Triple Million instant game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the CVS pharmacy, located at 22000 Ecorse Road in Taylor.

“I won $500 on a scratch-off ticket and used the winnings to purchase a few Triple Million tickets,” said the 60-year-old player.  “I scratched the tickets off when I got to my car, and I didn’t think I won anything but scanned them on the Lottery app to be sure.

“When a message came up that I’d won $1 million, I was confused. I looked the ticket over again and that’s when I realized that I really had won $1 million.  I couldn’t believe I missed it!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the prize.  He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments totaling $1 million.  With his winnings, he plans to invest, pay bills, and then save the remainder.
