ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) – St. Louis has several fantastic restaurants with spectacular views, but one that might outshine them all is Kemoll’s Italian Restaurant. According to OpenTable, it’s among the 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America. The amazing location at the top of the Metropolitan Square building allows diners breath-taking 360-degree views from its 42nd-floor site. The only other Missouri restaurant that made the prestigious list is Baxter’s Lakeside Grille in Lake of the Ozarks.
For those that don’t know, OpenTable is a leading online provider of free, real-time reservations for diner. They also help with guest management solutions for restaurants. The company boasts of providing online reservations for close to 31,000 restaurants around the world. This latest 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America list is based on over 5 million restaurant reviews given by substantiated OpenTable diners.
The restaurant has a long history, from the time it was first opened in 1927, by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kemoll, (aka Vincenzo Camuglia). Mrs. Kemoll mastered authentic Sicilian recipes, after learning from her mother. She not only used the highest quality ingredients in her dishes, but she also perfected each and every dish until she was 100 percent satisfied with them.
Over the years, the casual neighborhood ground floor diner has evolved into a “top of the line” fine dining restaurant at One Metropolitan Square, on the 40th Floor, no less. They’re known for their delicious, authentic Sicilian dishes, along with the restaurants romantic ambiance. One tidbit that many locals don’t know is that many of St. Louis’ most popular dishes were first introduced by Mrs. Kemoll. A few of those would be cheese bread, fried artichokes, cannelloni, manicotti, and calzone.
