ANNAPOLIS, MD (STL.News) Governor Larry Hogan today participated in an employee town hall and received a cybersecurity briefing during a tour of Thermo Fisher Scientific, a biotechnology company that manufactures, processes, and distributes pharmaceutical products.
A major focus of the governor’s visit was an update on Thermo Fisher’s cybersecurity operations, which works to defend the company and its customers against rapidly evolving cyber threats.
Thermo Fisher Scientific employs over 1,400 Marylanders, primarily from Frederick and Rockville. During the town hall, the governor had the chance to thank Thermo Fisher employees for being part of the front line response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Technologies manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific are used to supply hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
