Legislative History of Gina Walsh

Walsh was first elected to serve as a representative for the 69th District of North St. Louis County in the Missouri State House of Representatives in 2002.  Walsh had a successful tenure in the Missouri State House of Representatives, serving four terms and gaining public praise for her above and beyond efforts to help bridge the gap between Republicans and Democrats to accomplish important goals for the people of Missouri.  After her fourth and final term in the Missouri State House of Representatives, Walsh ran for the Missouri State Senate and was elected in 2012 to represent the 13th Senatorial District.  After delivering similarly to her tenure in the House, Senator Walsh was elected to a second term in the Missouri State Senate in 2016.

Her list of committee memberships is extensive and includes the Committee on Administration, the Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy, and the Environment, the Committee on Insurance and Banking, the Joint Committee on Government Accountability, the Joint Committee on Public Employees Retirement, and the Senate Interim Committee on Labor Reform.  In addition, she serves as the Chairwoman of the Committee on Progress and Development and Vice-Chairwoman of the Senate Select Committee on Capital Improvements.  Through her active participation in the committee and on the Senate floor, Senator Walsh is working to create new opportunities for businesses and consumers and support teachers, parents, and children in the Missouri education system.

Currently, Senator Walsh resides in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri.  Not unlike her work in the Missouri State House of Representatives and the Missouri State Senate, Senator Walsh is an active member of her hometown community.  She is a North County Labor Legislative Club member, St. Ferdinand and Spanish Democratic clubs, and the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Senator Walsh currently serves on the Parish Pastoral Council at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Bellefontaine Neighbors.  Currently in the middle of her second term representing the 13th Senatorial District in the Missouri State Senate, Senator Walsh uses her civilian life experience to relate to the needs and concerns of her constituents and, when necessary, take action.
