Crown Valley Brewing Set for 6th Frosty Brewfest & Spirits

6th Annual Frosty Brewfest & Spirits in St. Genevieve

Ste. Genevieve, MO/January 11, 2018 (STL.News) – One of Missouri’s favorite winter festivals is set to get underway in Ste. Genevieve this month. The Sixth Annual Frosty Brewfest & Spirits will bring beer, spirits, food, and fun to Crown Valley Brewing & Distilling at 13326 State Highway F in Ste. Genevieve from 2–6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018. This outdoor event will feature samples of the flagship labels and seasonal offerings from breweries and distilleries across the region. A Brewfest plated lunch special will be available to purchase, and there will be lots of frosty festivities, including live music. There will also be a huge blaze in the fire pit and plenty of heaters (not to mention beers and spirits!) to warm things up.

There are three ticket options for this year’s festival. A $30 General Admission ticket includes festival admission and a souvenir glass. The $60 VIP ticket gets you in an hour early (at 1:00 p.m.) and includes a souvenir glass, plus a plate-lunch ticket, and a 32-ounce growler filled with Crown Valley’s limited-edition Frosty Brew. For $150 there’s an All-Inclusive Frosty VIP ticket that includes all the perks of the VIP admission, plus a one-night stay at the nearby Tradition Inn, shuttle service to and from Frosty Brewfest, and a $30 food voucher for Spokes Pub & Grill in Farmington. (Add a second VIP ticket for an additional $50.) Designated Driver tickets are also available. A $10 Designated Driver ticket includes entrance to Frosty Brewfest only. Even though they won’t be drinking, designated drivers must still be 21 or older with valid ID. Tickets are available online at the Crown Valley Brewing website. Tickets purchased the day of the event will cost $5 more.

The Frosty Brewfest & Spirits seems to get more popular each year. The annual festival draws hundreds of people and dozens of brewers to Crown Valley to celebrate the craft brewing and artisan distilling industries. And the festival just keeps growing. By the end of December, 49 breweries and distilleries had signed on for this year’s event.

But then Crown Valley isn’t just another craft brewery. There’s always something special going on at this multifaceted business. Crown Valley began producing grapes nearly 30 years ago. Joe Scott, Sr. established a ranch in Coffman, Missouri—near Ste. Genevieve—in 1984. He began growing Chardonel grapes in 1998. Crown Valley has been growing and expanding ever since. In 2008 Crown Valley rehabbed an old school house and created a state-of-the-art Brewery and Distillery. The 15-barrel brew house is where Crown Valley beers (including their flagship ale, Big Bison Ale), hard ciders (in year-round and seasonal varieties) and Fizzy Izzy Root Beer are crafted. At the distillery they make Crown Valley Vodka, Missouri Moonshine, and their highly celebrated Washtub Gin.

Over the years, Crown Valley has grown into a 600-acre operation that includes a brewery, a winery, a distillery, a 400-head bison ranch, plus on-sight lodging and even a tiger sanctuary. They also have an on-site pub, a cute store offering collectibles, antiques, etc., a beer garden with a music stage and fire pit, and they offer tastings and tours. As if that wasn’t enough, in 2016 Crown Valley Distillery branched out to Branson, Missouri, opening the first legal distillery in that city since prohibition.

Ordinarily, Crown Valley is open for tours and tastings Thursday – Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The 30-minute brewery tours (at noon, 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.) are $3 per person, $6 with four tasting samples. During regular hours, they also offer pub style food, a 73-foot indoor bar, and tours of the Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary. Tours are not available during the festival.

During Frosty Brewfest, Crown Valley Brewing and Distilling will be open only to festival ticket holders. There will be no refunds unless the event is cancelled due to weather. Festival-goers will need to present their printed tickets for admission on the day of the event. Everyone must also have a valid ID and be 21 or older to enter the festival or participate in Frosty Brewfest & Spirits.
