Celebrate New Year’s Overlooking the City at Cielo Restaurant

Cielo Restaurant and Bar at the Four Seasons

St. Louis, MO/December 27, 2016 (STLRestaurant.News) Cielo Restaurant and Bar – Every city has a handful of really exceptional restaurants.  Sometimes that means exciting new places with interesting menus and kitschy decor.  Often, the very best are longtime fixtures in the community, the places that have stood the test of time because they do everything well.  One look at our Top 10 Fine Dining Restaurants back in September tells you St. Louis has a fabulous selection of both kinds.  Cielo Restaurant and Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel, 999 North 2nd Street, in downtown St. Louis made the top ten for good reason.  They do everything well, and they do it all in a breathtaking space.

This isn’t just a hotel restaurant. Far from it.  Cielo is a dining destination where the focus is on creating a quality experience.  From the authentic Italian cuisine and the impressively good service, to the elegant decor and spectacular views of the Arch and downtown St. Louis, Cielo is special.  They’re one of only six local restaurants to earn a four-diamond rating from AAA.  That’s just one of their many accolades.

The menu created by Executive Chef Gian Nicola Colucci, a native of Italy, is delightfully casual, focusing on Italian classics made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients.  Cielo’s expert sommelier, Jeff Hall has curated a wine list that includes many affordable choices from the Piedmont region of Italy, Chef Colucci’s home.  But there are also wines for every taste.  And don’t forget Cielo Bar.  It’s a vibrant part of St. Louis’s spirited cocktail scene.  Here you’ll find expertly mixed, hand-crafted cocktails and a nice selection of locally brewed beers.

Every day is special at Cielo, and that includes New Year’s.

It begins at Cielo Bar with the New Year’s Eve Oyster Shuck and Champagne Bar on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Enjoy raw seafood, sushi, oysters and champagne for $65 per person.  A DJ will entertain from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Make reservations by calling (314) 881-5759.

Then say goodbye to 2016 with a fabulous evening of great food and live music.  From 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Cielo will serve a seven-course interactive tasting menu ($105 per adult/$30 for children aged 5–12).  Wine pairings are also available ($50 additional, $85 for premium pours).  Live music will entertain diners from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  But a DJ will keep the party going until 1:00 a.m.

Dinner will begin with a first course of Baccala Mantecato de Olive All ‘Ascolana (creamy cod brandade with fried stuffed olives, soft polenta, pickled veg, and broccoli mousse).  The second course pairs duck breast with a spicy apple edamame sauce and crunchy salad.  It’s followed by the third course of white bean soup with lobster and caviar.  The fourth course will be parmesan ricotta stuffed tortelli in an Amish chicken consommé.  The fifth is the fish course featuring flavorful Red Snapper.  For the sixth or main course diners will choose between two options.  The first is a balanced plate of filet mignon with roasted vegetable, mushroom ravioli and white truffle sauce.  The second choice is a perfectly prepared lamb chop with orange braised endive, onion broccolini timbale with saffron sauce.  Dessert brings the choice of a Trio of Lollipops (salted caramel, raspberry, espresso), or Frozen Banana Passion Fruit Semifreddo with honey.  Reservations for dinner can be made by phone or online.

For something a little more casual, opt for a fun evening of fortune telling, tarot card reading and fortune cookie decorating in the hotel’s Sky Lobby.  Enjoy a full buffet, complete with seafood risotto, fresh salads, and sides that are sure to bring good fortune.  The cost is $85 per person from 7:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. There will be a DJ and dancing from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
