SACRAMENTO, CA – We learned some interesting things when a retiree claimed a $20 million SuperLotto Plus ticket sold in Fontana (San Bernardino County). Jose Ramos arrived at the California Lottery’s Inland Empire District Office along with an attorney. It’s not an unusual move when you’re dealing with the type of money Ramos won after he matched all six numbers in the February 3, 2018 draw.
This win is significant for a couple of reasons. Obviously, one is the fantastic prize amount. We’re talking about $20 million (before taxes)! “It feels great,” Ramos said, “I’m grateful and thank God for this.”
Another thing that caught our attention is the fact that Ramos hit the jackpot after buying just one ticket. That’s right. He spent just $1, and by picking numbers of personal significance Ramos is now a multimillionaire!
Ramos respectfully declined any potential media interviews or to include a photo with this release. No additional information about him will be released, other than a quick line about what he might do with the money. “I don’t know, maybe I’ll keep buying Lottery tickets,” Ramos said with a laugh.
Ramos purchased the lucky ticket at Miss Donuts and Bagel, which is located at 9920 Sierra Avenue in Fontana (San Bernardino County). It matched the following six numbers: 41-10-45-46-29, and the Mega number 10. This retailer receives a bonus of $100,000 from the Lottery just for selling the winning ticket. (The retailer bonus is not subtracted from the winner’s jackpot prize.)
