Putin Plays Nuclear Card As Russian Forces Face Resistance In Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his defence chiefs to put the country’s nuclear “deterrence” forces on high alert.  Putin’s move will add to tensions that are already soaring after Russia invaded Ukraine.  Moscow has the world’s largest arsenal of nuclear weapons and a massive cache of ballistic missiles.  Experts say the order could mean that bombs are loaded onto bombers or more nuclear-armed submarines put out to sea.
