On March 6, 2019, Ahern was presented with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and CNA Insurance Safety Excellence Award in Category 5 – More than 1 Million Work Hours. Participating companies were judged on the quality of their safety programs, innovative safety initiatives, and overall safety performance in 2018.
“It’s an honor to have our safety efforts recognized by the Mechanical Contractors Association of America,” said Dustin Rusch, Chief Safety Officer at Ahern. “This is truly a team accomplishment that was earned by our hard-working and committed employees. The safety conversation and culture has changed, the focus is on collaboration, partnering and learning rather than enforcement. Our team has been amazing, the level of safety engagement and commitment to proactive activities grows every day. When we want to improve upon or deploy something new, our people embrace it. Whether it’s incorporating safety into project planning or day-to-day work execution. We still have unfinished business and are committed to the journey of continuous safety improvement. It’s the most important thing we do at Ahern.”
