Jefferson City, MO/October 26, 2017 (STL.News)(Keywords: Opioid Announcement) – Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley today released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s declaration of the opioid crisis as a National Public Health Emergency saying:
“Missourians have lost neighbors, friends, and family members to a crisis fueled by companies that put profit ahead of health by preying on people struggling with pain. I have launched one of the largest lawsuits in Missouri history against the companies who have engaged in this fraud, and we will hold them to account.
Thousands of people are battling an addiction today and their lives are endangered. We must put an end to this crisis. This is why President Trump’s emergency order is an important step. It brings the issue to the national spotlight. My office will continue to fight this scourge everyday.”
