Scott Knopfel Memorial Dine-Out Event
ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) Scott Knopfel, night manager at the Drury Inn, located at I-44 and Hampton, was shot on January 15, 2015, at approximately 3 am, ending his life at 50 years old. The shooter was captured and sentenced to life in prison for the first-degree murder of Scott Knopfel.
The Missouri Restaurant Association has organized a Memorial Dine-Out event for Tuesday, November 15, 2016. A portion of the funds spent will go to fund scholarships for area restaurants and hotel employees.
According to the Missouri Restaurant Association the 2015 event as a success apparently raising an estimated $63,000 for scholarships that were awarded to nine students in amounts up to $7,000.00.
Participating restaurants will make a donation based on that day’s sales that will, again, be used for scholarships for area restaurant and hotel employees.
Scott Knopfel was a lifelong St. Louisan who touched many lives during his career in the restaurant and hotel industries that lost his life unnecessarily while working and helping others.
